UAprep (Private) helps students and parents in Bangladesh choose a private university and prepare for admission tests. This page explains what information we collect, why we collect it, who can see it, and what you can do about it. We have tried to write it in plain words.
What we collect
- Sign-in details. Your name and email address from Google when you sign in with Google. If phone sign-in is switched on, your mobile number. Staff sign in with an email and a password, and we store only a scrambled (hashed) version of that password.
- Your profile. The name you tell us, your SSC or Dakhil and HSC or Alim GPA, your group, the subjects you like, your budget, and the season you want to start.
- What you do on UAprep. Universities you shortlist, applications and checklists you keep, waiver estimates, your answers and scores in mini tests, practice sets and mocks, and your reminder settings.
- Files you choose to upload. Scans of certificates and photos of the written pages of a mock test.
- Payments. The package you buy, the amount, the bKash or Nagad number you paid from and the transaction ID (TrxID) you send us. We never see your PIN or password for bKash or Nagad.
- Messages. What you write to our support team, and notes from a counsellor if you book one.
- Technical information. The cookies described below, and simple counts of steps taken on the site (for example "waiver estimate started") that are not linked to any person.
Cookies and what is kept in your browser
- A sign-in cookie that keeps you signed in.
- A random private ID cookie so that a waiver estimate you make without signing in stays yours on that device.
- Your light or dark theme choice, kept in your browser.
We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not use third-party tracking or analytics tools that follow you around the web.
How we use your information
- To work out your waiver estimate, show the universities that match your results, and keep your shortlist and applications.
- To run mini tests, practice sets and mocks, and to mark and return your results.
- To take and check payments, and to open and end your season pass.
- To send reminders you asked for, and to answer your messages.
- To keep the service safe, fix problems and improve it, using counts that do not identify anyone.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who can see it
- You. Nobody else sees your profile, results or files unless this page says so.
- Our staff, only as much as their job needs. Support staff can read your messages and see what they need to help you. Every time staff open personal information, it is written to an access log.
- Examiners who mark written mock pages see your pages without your name.
- A counsellor sees your details only if you agree for that counselling session.
- Your files. Nobody at UAprep can open a document you uploaded unless you share it with them. You can take that permission back at any time.
- Universities and partners. Only when you press the button to share your details with a university and agree. You can withdraw that permission.
- A parent. Only if you choose to share. A result link you make for a parent is private, needs no account, and you can switch it off at any time.
- Service providers that run the site for us: web hosting, the database and file storage, Google for sign-in, and an email or SMS service when we use one. They handle your information only to provide their service to us. Some of their servers are outside Bangladesh.
- Authorities, if the law requires us to share information.
How we use AI
We use AI tools in two places. First, to help our team draft facts about universities from their official public pages; this uses no personal information. Second, only if you agree for a counselling session, to help the counsellor draft a summary from facts you entered on UAprep, without your name, phone number or email. A person always checks this text before it is used, and you see a counselling summary only after the counsellor approves it.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is open. If you ask us to delete it, we delete or anonymise it. Payment records and invoices are kept for as long as accounting rules require. Access and security logs are kept so that we can protect the service. Anonymous counts do not identify anyone and may be kept.
Your choices
- Look at and correct your name and results in Settings and My results.
- Take back permission to share a file, a result link or your details with a university.
- Switch off reminders.
- Ask us for a copy of your information, or to delete your account and information, from the Contact page. We will reply as soon as we can, and within 30 days.
Keeping it safe
Files are kept in private storage. Staff passwords are stored only as salted hashes. Access to personal information is logged. No website can promise perfect security, so please keep your sign-in safe and tell us at once if you think someone else has used your account.
Young people and parents
Many students who use UAprep are under 18. If you are under 18, please use UAprep with the knowledge of a parent or guardian. We ask only for the information the service needs.
Changes to this page
When we change this page we will update the date at the top. If a change matters a lot for you, we will tell you in the app.
